While my daughter sleeps .....

Whilst Poppy is sleeping, I've been listening to some beautiful piano music by Ludovico Einaudi and finishing the final block for my scrap quilt!  I've stitched the final rows together and here it is ...

I'm really pleased with the end result - it's SO fussy which I love!  I realised as I was making it, that all the different scraps I used, I love.  So that is the answer I think .... always buy fabric that you LOVE and whatever you do with it, you'll end up loving! :)

Actually, this quilt has taught me a lot.  It's given me revision on all the piecing techniques I've learnt over the last couple of years and it's taken the pressure off choosing the right fabric as I've realised there is no right or wrong fabric!

Favourite blocks are ...

adore paper piecing and

love log cabin and absolute favourite flying geese !  In fact, as the quilt seems to me to be long and narrow, I might add a row of flying geese along each side to fatten it up....  I'll let you know !

  2. Beautiful. I love all the different patterns and techniques. I sure it was a lot of fun to piece. I enjoy projects like that. In an odd way though, I am a bit sad when they are completed...On the bright side I get to start another.

  3. How exciting! Thank you ladies - you are the first comments outside my family! I'm relatively new to quilting and certainly new to blogging!!! Diane, I so agree with you! I'm always a little sad when I finish a quilt but happy that I can start a new one! It's like reading a good book. I often slow down the last few chapters to make it last because I don't want it to end! Does anyone else do that? And it always takes me a few days before I can start the next book because I like to spend some time thinking about the previous one! I'm beginning to do just the same with my quilting projects! Thank you ladies once again! Vx
