January projects ...

This was the wall hanging I made for Jennifer's 60th birthday.  It was a pattern from a book called 'patchwork loves embroidery' by Gail Pan. If you think some of the stitching isn't finished - it is - I used variegated thread which gives you this lovely relaxed feel ...

One final angel for my sewing room finished  ...

Bag making again ... I was particularly pleased with the way this one turned out for Eileen - it went together so well!  Perhaps I'm getting the hang of bag making!

Maggie was pleased with her wall hanging - here it is in her kitchen ...

Finally finished my Angel Quilt ... all hand quilted ...

Now making a scallop border for my medallion quilt ... this is the last one - hooray!

In 2017 I'm going to use scraps from projects to make little houses like these ...

I've got a lovely little hamper in my sewing room and I'm going to use it to store all the little houses and then next year I'll hopefully have enough houses to stitch together and make a quilt!

Think that's enough sewing for one month!

Happy New Year and ...

I hope you all had a great Christmas!  I can't believe that I haven't posted anything since November!  I've been busy  making more wall hangings and bags but unfortunately I didn't take many photographs!  Here is a snapshot ...

Wall hanging for Sue's birthday!

Wall hanging for Maggie's birthday!

Three more bags made by Jenny and myself on a sewing weekend!

Christmas present for Jo!

I must make a point of blogging more often and taking more photographs!  I made another wall hanging for my friend Jennifer and I don't have one photograph!  Sorry - will do better in 2017!

It's official ...

I have flanged ...

and this is what my quilt top looks like now ...  one more round to go!

Last weekend I met my dear friend Heather at this show in Bristol ...

it was really good and we spent a lovely day looking at and talking fabric!  It's good to go to these shows because you get to see all the latest gadgets and you get ideas.  The competition quilts are always amazing!

You also find new suppliers like Totally Buttons ...

I forgot to go back and get some Christmas Buttons so I ordered them on line and they arrived the next day - fantastic service!

It's all in the stars ...

I set my stars into this beautiful purple tulip fabric ... I would never have done this, if Colleen (one of the ladies in my class) hadn't set her stars into a darker fabric ... I was all set to put my stars into a cream fabric but this looks SO much better ... it's what's great about being in class - you get ideas from other people!

I've also made another row of bricks, so next month I'll be putting it all together - can't wait!

And here's another birthday gift ...

It was my lovely sister-in-law Jo's 60th birthday in October ...

Jo makes amazing cakes ...

Happy Birthday Jo Jo! Vx

Another birthday to celebrate ...

Happy Birthday Andy Zak ...

Cushion pattern came from one of my favourite bloggers - Allison Harris of Cluck Cluck Sew ...

I've had this American Stars and Stripes fabric for a couple of years ... just waiting for the perfect project ...

And I think these buttons add a nice touch!

Oh ... and whilst clearing out a kitchen drawer ... I found an old school tea towel ... it made me smile ...

Bless them! xxx

Happy times ...

spent at Cupcake Cottons!  50% off Christmas fabrics today!

I love the fact that Steph puts your purchases in a lovely brown bag with a Cupcakes label!  It makes it special!

I particularly like the fabric in the bottom left of the picture - feel some fussy cutting coming on!

I've been busy making 32 stars for my medallion quilt ...

and I made another bag for a very happy event!

Congratulations to Paul and Jane on the birth of gorgeous little Freddy ...
