so I needed a quilt to make which was easy to just pick up at the end of the day ... something which would go together simply and look pretty ... and I found it on one of my favourite blog sites called Cluck Cluck Sew, by Allison Harris ...
so I started making blocks ...
and it just grew ...
and grew ...
and is still growing ...
Originally, I thought I'd make this quilt to snuggle under in the summer house. However, I've now made 32 blocks which is enough to make a throw and two cushions but the blocks look so pretty laid out on Poppy's bed that I'm tempted to keep sewing and make enough for a quilt for her room! Oh decisions, decisions!

Such fun ...
I had a lovely time last Friday at Cupcake Cottons finishing off my Angel blocks and starting putting my quilt together! It was lovely to be with like minded ladies who didn't think it was at all strange that I had packed a quilting book to take with me to a family wedding ...
The wedding was fabulous and many congratulations to Alex and Debbie! I wish you every happiness in your life together!
Anyway, back to my quilt ... here it is with all the blocks finished and put together ...
I am SO pleased with it! Just need to choose some fabric for the border and then I can start basting it together! I'm going to quilt this one by hand, so that will have to wait for some cooler weather!
A big thank you to my dear friends Sue, Maggie, Theresa and Lesley for the birthday vouchers which bought the fabric! And to Steph at Cupcake Cottons for running the block a month course - it's such a great way to make a quilt - when does the next course start please Steph?
Happy Quilting, Vanessa x
