A little teaser ....

for you - any ideas?  It was such a sticky hot day here yesterday with intermittent thunder storms, so I stayed home with the fan on in my sewing room, and started cutting out and sewing my next quilt.  Again, this one is a surprise so I will only be able to show you snippets as I go along - sorry!

I also started a little bit of hand sewing, because it is not my most favourite thing in the world, and I'm going to need to do it for the angel quilt I'm making at Cupcake Cottons in September, so ....

I'm hoping I'll grow to love it because this book has some beautiful designs in it and gifts for friends that I would love to make!

Lovely day out with Sue and Penny ...

at the American Museum in Bath.  We went to see the Kaffe Fassett exhibition which was wonderful. Here are a couple of pictures of quilts hanging in the house ...

His quilts are SO fussy and colourful - they are wonderful!  And although I wouldn't want them everywhere, I do feel we could all do with a little bit of the Kaffe Fassett style in our lives!  Even if you are not a big fan of his, the exhibition is certainly worth a visit!

All I seem to do ....

is show pictures of beautiful fabrics!

I want you all to know that I have been sewing - honestly - but I can't show you until later in the year!  So for now you will just have to take a look at more fabric which I am collecting to start the Anni Downs Angel Quilt I am going to make at Cupcake Cottons.  It's a block a month quilt and as it involves a good deal of hand sewing, I'll probably need a month to complete each block!  Really looking forward to getting started in September though.  I used my birthday gift voucher for the fabric which was given to me by my lovely friends Sue, Maggie, Lesley and Theresa.  So thank you girls - this one will be for you! :)

Last Wednesday I met up with an old friend, Chris, in London.  Chris moved to New York City three years ago, so as you can imagine we had a lot of catching up to do!  We spent a great day chatting, having coffee, visiting the wedding dress exhibition at the V&A, quilt fabric shopping and drinking wine!!!  It was SO lovely to see Chris again.  Chris is an amazing quilter - check out her blog at www.madebychrissieD.blogspot.co.uk.  She took me to this interesting fabric shop called Shaukat Fabrics on the Old Brompton  Road and I bought some beautiful Liberty fabric which I intend to use to back another quilt I'm planning.  Oh .... so many quilts to make!!!

Safe trip back to the big apple Chris! x

Another one I can't share yet ...

because it's a present!!!  However, the pattern comes from this book and these are the fabric scraps ...

and this is my sewing machine and yes, Sue, those are giant chocolate buttons (my dentist won't be happy) ... and a glass of wine!  Tools of the trade!
