Happy Easter!!! It's a beautiful morning here in the UK - the sun is shining! However, I have my seasons a little mixed up as I've just finished binding my Christmas quilt!!!
So here it is .....
and here's a couple of close ups so that you can see the beautiful Anni Downs fabric
and one of the back so that you can see the Christmas tree and stars pattern
I made this quilt at the intermediate class at Cupcake Cottons, Burford before Christmas and Barbara at Fir Tree Quilting long arm quilted it for me. I'm thrilled with the end result .... bring on next Christmas!!! :) :) :)

OK all can be revealed ........
I made this quilt for my brother-in-law Mike who will be starting his treatment tomorrow - good luck Mike! We hope all goes well and you are able to snuggle under this quilt if you are feeling poorly - but hopefully you won't need it too much!!!!
We are all thinking of you and wishing you well!!!

Took my lovely Dad for his 4th BCG treatment at the Great Western Hospital. When we got home he snuggled under the quilt I made him in 2011!
Then popped over to Newbury to visit Barbara at Fir Tree Quilting. Collected my Christmas quilt which she had finished (will post a photo shortly) and let her have the quilt I've made for my mother-in-law. My husband asked me to make a quilt for his Mum two weeks before Christmas!!! Obviously, fellow quilters you will understand that was not possible so I bought a quilt kit from Cupcake Cottons which I gave to my mother-in-law for Christmas with a note to say that I would make it for her in the New Year. Well the quilt is now pieced and with Barbara for long arm quilting so it will be with you Mum Swann very soon!

Good morning! Well yesterday I was working on a secret project! It's for someone who is poorly and will need a good deal of treatment over the next few months. So I thought I would make that person a quilt! My family tease me about my quilting but I think it will be comforting for this person to snuggle under a quilt when he's feeling rough!
It's a quilt as you go (QAYG) quilt which I love doing as it's so quick and easy. The only part I dislike is the slip stitch sewing of the joining strips. So I attempted to sew these using my lovely blanket stitch (my favourite stitch) on my Elna machine. It looked fantastic on the top but I just couldn't line it up neatly on the back - it was all very frustrating so I'm now back to hand sewing the strips! If anyone has any bright ideas how I can sew the complete quilt on the machine please get in touch and let me know - thank you!

I'm going to start from the beginning of my quilting story BUT I'll need to take some photographs first!!!
This is one I've already taken and it's of a block (or row) I'm doing from Popular Patchwork. I absolutely LOVE the idea of doing a block a month or as in this case a row a month. I'm SO looking forward to next month's issue and I'll be able to finish my quilt. So watch this space!!!!
